Race Report: Nola 2022 SRO TC America
18th May 2022
Genracer comes out with a strong P2 Finish from Jeff Ricca in Round 4 while Round 3 was a difficult showing for the team with a DNF in the 88 and a 9th place finish for 78
May 18th 2022 - New Orleans, LA
Round 3 was a showed a difficult time for the team as the 88 suffured an engine failure due to a mis-shift and the 78 encountered heat problems with the DCT transmission. The track temperature was a scorching 105 deg F and 92 deg F ambient that didn't help the cars perform properly. The crew was hard to work after the race and worked through the night to get the #88 back up and running with another new motor. However Nick had to start the race at the end of the grid due to the engine replacement penalty.
Round 4 was a shortened round of racing due to many full course yellows. However Jeff Ricca acted fast on the restarts and get his Veloster N up to the P2 position which remained to the end of the race. With a fresh motor in the #88, Nick drove the car to the best of his ability. Sadly the eLSD had a fault that could not fix itself during the race which caused Nick to be off race pace.
We gather our race notes and head to Virginia for Round 5 and 6 of the SRO TC America series middle of June.
