Team GenRacer heads to the Finger Lakes for a battle at the ‘Glen
GenRacer heads North this week to upstate New York for Rounds 7 and 8 of the SRO TC America Season. Another historic circuit on the calendar, Watkins Glen International is a high-speed circuit with challenging on and off camber corners, including the famous “Esses”, “Bus Stop” chicane, carousel and “Boot.” With the team coming off its first ever 2-3 finish in TC with both drivers on the podium in the final race last round at VIR, the team is looking to go one step further this weekend with their Liqui-Moly X-Clutch Hyundai Veloster N’s.

- GenRacer coming off of its first 2-3 podium finish in team history
- Watkins Glen is a home track for the team and drivers, good layout for the Veloster N
Team GenRacer is heading to Watkins Glen coming off its best team weekend of the 2022 season at VIR. Driver Jeff Ricca took a second-place double podium finish with a pole position in race 2, while Nick Barbato took a 4th place and 3rd place podium after qualifying on outside pole in race 1. The team believes the circuit layout and benefit of setup development may give the team its best to earn their first win of the season. Jeff and Nick shared their thoughts on the coming race weekend.
- Nick Barbato (#88 XClutch GenRacer Hyundai Veloster N): "I’m incredibly proud to have been a part of the first ever finish with both drivers on the podium in GenRacer team history. VIR was the best race weekend of the year for us and we continue to demonstrate strong race pace and steady improvement. The result was a testament to how hard we have worked as a team to push the cars forward, and the strength of the driving that Jeff and I continue to bring to each race in pursuit of the team and drivers championships. As a competitor, you are never satisfied unless you are on the top step of the podium, and I’m very hungry to get that first win of the season. I think the higher cornering speeds at the Glen will help my car a touch from a gearing perspective, and if we can put a clean weekend together and run at full potential in the races, maybe we could make some magic happen. I’m looking forward to having some friends and family attend the race as well.”
- Jeff Ricca (#78 Liqui-Moly GenRacer Hyundai Veloster N): "Glen is almost a home track for me. I have plenty of laps and races there and had good results in the past. With the data and setups we have done in the past for that track, I am confident that we will be a top contender this weekend. Goal is to grab as many points as we can for the team and keep the momentum going."
- The GenRacer Veloster N’s are are ready to do battle on home soil
