- Team looks to build on strong race pace from Rounds 3 & 4
- Drivers Nick Barbato and Jeff Ricca looking forward to the fast and flowing circuit
Team GenRacer is heading to historic VIR this week looking to build on its momentum after a strong podium finish by Jeff Ricca in round 4 at New Orleans. While it continues development of the cars, the team demonstrated great race pace all weekend at NOLA and a strong run by Jeff to close out the weekend. Drivers Jeff Ricca in the Liqui-Moly #78 and Nick Barbato in the X-Clutch #88 shared their thoughts on the coming event:
- Nick Barbato (#88 X-Clutch GenRacer Hyundai Veloster N): "We continue to put in countless hours behind the scenes to move the development of the cars forward. Our race pace is solid and we’ll be focusing on qualifying performances in the coming rounds. The Veloster might be a good match for the higher speeds and long straights at VIR. I am putting in a ton of simulator time in preparation for this event. I’m hopeful our hard work will pay off with a clean weekend and a good result.
- Jeff Ricca (#78 Liqui-Moly GenRacer Hyundai Veloster N): "VIR is one of my favorite tracks to race on in the USA. In the past I have done well and with the knowledge we have learned on this Veloster N platform, we really have a handle on the tuning for this track. I am pretty confident that we will have a good pace out of the box and should have a good result in Round 5 and 6. We are going for the long game with our season points but we do need a podium from both cars this weekend to keep the momentum going."
